As a tradie, one of the biggest killers of profit is travel time to your customer. Most customers are not happy to pay for travel time, and if you try to hide it, your quote will become uncompetitive.

The best way to overcome this situation is to keep your customer base as close to home or your working area as possible. Advertising on Google can be affective, but it can bring customers from far and wide, having you travelling all over the city to do your work. Local advertising is the key to keeping your work in your local area.

Local advertising can come in many forms and shapes from letter drops, local newspapers, sponsoring footy clubs, or getting a ute or van wrap, the latter being the most effective way to keep your business in the areas you operate.

This can save you several hours of travel every day to earn the same amount of money or, allow you to complete more jobs in a day, because you have less travel time.
