1 way vision vinyl has small holes allowing it to be seen through from the inside of the vehicle while displaying the graphic on the outside. This vinyl is laminated after the graphic has been printed. The laminate is a solid layer, so it covers the entire print including the holes.
While this protects the vinyl from scratching and weather it also causes some temporary issues after installing.
In most cases, after the installation the print will show application marks / streaks where the plastic application tool has pressed the vinyl to the window. This is due to parts of the vinyl being double layered (vinyl and laminate) with other parts where the holes are, only have laminate over them. This can also create a slight blur in the vision when looking through the print.
The good news is that this is only temporary and will clear up after a few heat cycles on warm days. Of course, this happens quicker in summer and take a little longer in winter. Normally after a few days the print smooths out and becomes crystal clear, so a little patience is needed.
At Tradie Wraps, we always laminate our 1-way prints to protect them from wipers and the weather. Hopefully this has given you a bit more understanding about the products we use.
