The term “car wrap” is spoken about a lot these days when talking about signage on vehicles - but what actually is a car wrap?
In a pure sense you can think of a car wrap just the same as you would think of a gift wrap.
When we cover a gift, we put paper over the external surface of the gift so you can’t see what’s inside, in the same way when we install a car wrap, we are covering the external areas of the car, or the paint to be exact, with an adhesive vinyl sticker which conforms to the shape of the car, as though we were wrapping it like a gift.
In real terms are vehicle wrap does not have to cover the entire painted surface of the vehicle. There are half wraps, quarter wraps, third wraps or anything in between.
Generally speaking, a car wrap uses a large piece of adhesive vinyl to cover part or all of the vehicle paint.
A Commercial ute wrap, or van wrap would generally use printed logos, words or images as part of the wrap, while a private vehicle wrap may just use a different colour of adhesive vinyl to change the colour of the car.
